North Wales Camping & Paddling Trip 🏕️🛶

Over the August Bank Holiday weekend, Birmingham Canoe Club members, along with partners and children, headed to North Wales for four days of camping, paddling and plenty of time together.

As always with our camping trips, it wasn’t all about being on the water. There was plenty of time to relax, explore and enjoy the weekend together, with different paddling options available for those who fancied getting out on the water.

Saturday – Pontcysyllte Aqueduct

Our first paddling day took us to the impressive Pontcysyllte Aqueduct near Wrexham, where we enjoyed a paddle across one of North Wales’ most famous landmarks.

Sunday – White Water

Sunday offered something for a range of abilities, with two white-water trips taking place.

A group headed onto the River Dee from Corwen to Horseshoe, taking on Grade 2 white water.

Meanwhile, the more experienced paddlers headed to Canolfan Tryweryn at Frongoch near Bala for some advanced white-water paddling.

Monday – Park & Play

To round off the weekend, we headed to TNR – Mile End Mill for some park and play, giving paddlers the chance to practise their skills and have some fun on the water before heading home.

Another brilliant Bank Holiday weekend with Birmingham Canoe Club, combining paddling, camping, adventure and, most importantly, good company. 💙🛶🏕️
