Stratford canal and aqueduct July 24

Location: Stratford canal, Warwickshire
Distance: 3 miles
Duration: 4 hours

It was a glorious morning for a leisurely paddle down the Stratford canal with a small group of members.
There were a variety of crafts - Linzie on her paddleboard, Ken in his open canoe and the rest of us in kayaks.

We navigated a lock, learned about split bridges (built in two halves to allow a tow rope through the centre) and paddled over Edstone Aqueduct, which is 200 years old and the longest cast iron aqueduct in England.

We finished off with a pint and chips at the Red Lion.
